  1. CVE-2006-1056

LOW · The Linux kernel before 2.6.16.9 and the FreeBSD kernel, when running on AMD64 and other 7th and 8th generation AuthenticAMD processors, only save/restore the FOP, FIP, and FDP x87 registers in FXSAVE/FXRSTOR when an exception is pending, which allows one process to determine portions of the state of floating point instructions of other processes, which can be leveraged to obtain sensitive information such as cryptographic keys. NOTE: this is the documented behavior of AMD64 processors, but it is inconsistent with Intel processors in a security-relevant fashion that was not addressed by the kernels.

  2. CVE-2007-3721

LOW · The ULE process scheduler in the FreeBSD kernel gives preference to "interactive" processes that perform voluntary sleeps, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption), as described in "Secretly Monopolizing the CPU Without Superuser Privileges."

  3. CVE-2007-3722

LOW · The 4BSD process scheduler in the FreeBSD kernel performs scheduling based on CPU billing gathered from periodic process sampling ticks, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) by performing voluntary nanosecond sleeps that result in the process not being active during a clock interrupt, as described in "Secretly Monopolizing the CPU Without Superuser Privileges."

  4. CVE-2008-2427

HIGH · Stack-based buffer overflow in NConvert 4.92, GFL SDK 2.82, and XnView 1.93.6 on Windows and 1.70 on Linux and FreeBSD allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted format keyword in a Sun TAAC file.

  5. CVE-2008-2464

HIGH · The mld_input function in sys/netinet6/mld6.c in the kernel in NetBSD 4.0, FreeBSD, and KAME, when INET6 is enabled, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (divide-by-zero error and panic) via a malformed ICMPv6 Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) query with a certain Maximum Response Delay value.

  6. CVE-2009-0601

LOW · Format string vulnerability in Wireshark 0.99.8 through 1.0.5 on non-Windows platforms allows local users to cause a denial of service (application crash) via format string specifiers in the HOME environment variable.

  7. CVE-2009-3048

MEDIUM · Opera before 10.00 on Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD does not properly implement the "INPUT TYPE=file" functionality, which allows remote attackers to trick a user into uploading an unintended file via vectors involving a "dropped file."

  8. CVE-2009-4502

HIGH · The NET_TCP_LISTEN function in net.c in Zabbix Agent before 1.6.7, when running on FreeBSD or Solaris, allows remote attackers to bypass the EnableRemoteCommands setting and execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in the argument to net.tcp.listen. NOTE: this attack is limited to attacks from trusted IP addresses.

  9. CVE-2010-2530

MEDIUM · Multiple integer signedness errors in smb_subr.c in the netsmb module in the kernel in NetBSD 5.0.2 and earlier, FreeBSD, and Apple Mac OS X allow local users to cause a denial of service (panic) via a negative size value in a /dev/nsmb ioctl operation, as demonstrated by a (1) SMBIOC_LOOKUP or (2) SMBIOC_OPENSESSION ioctl call.

  10. CVE-2010-3014

LOW · The Coda filesystem kernel module, as used in NetBSD and FreeBSD, when Coda is loaded and Venus is running with /coda mounted, allows local users to read sensitive heap memory via a large out_size value in a ViceIoctl struct to a Coda ioctl, which triggers a buffer over-read.

  11. CVE-2011-0343

MEDIUM · Balabit syslog-ng 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 OSE and PE, when running on FreeBSD or HP-UX, does not properly perform cast operations, which causes syslog-ng to use a default value of -1 to create log files with insecure permissions (07777), which allows local users to read and write to these log files.

  12. CVE-2011-0419

MEDIUM · Stack consumption vulnerability in the fnmatch implementation in apr_fnmatch.c in the Apache Portable Runtime (APR) library before 1.4.3 and the Apache HTTP Server before 2.2.18, and in fnmatch.c in libc in NetBSD 5.1, OpenBSD 4.8, FreeBSD, Apple Mac OS X 10.6, Oracle Solaris 10, and Android, allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU and memory consumption) via *? sequences in the first argument, as demonstrated by attacks against mod_autoindex in httpd.

  13. CVE-2011-1073

LOW · crontab.c in crontab in FreeBSD and Apple Mac OS X allows local users to (1) determine the existence of arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a /tmp/crontab.XXXXXXXXXX temporary file and (2) perform MD5 checksum comparisons on arbitrary pairs of files via two symlink attacks on /tmp/crontab.XXXXXXXXXX temporary files.

  14. CVE-2011-1074

LOW · crontab.c in crontab in FreeBSD allows local users to determine the existence of arbitrary directories via a command-line argument composed of a directory name concatenated with a directory traversal sequence that leads to the /etc/crontab pathname.

MEDIUM · mount.vmhgfs in the VMware Host Guest File System (HGFS) in VMware Workstation 7.1.x before 7.1.4, VMware Player 3.1.x before 3.1.4, VMware Fusion 3.1.x before 3.1.3, VMware ESXi 3.5 through 4.1, and VMware ESX 3.0.3 through 4.1, when a Solaris or FreeBSD guest OS is used, allows guest OS users to modify arbitrary guest OS files via unspecified vectors, related to a "procedural error."

  16. CVE-2011-2393

HIGH · The Neighbor Discovery (ND) protocol implementation in the IPv6 stack in FreeBSD, NetBSD, and possibly other BSD-based operating systems allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption and device hang) by sending many Router Advertisement (RA) messages with different source addresses, a similar vulnerability to CVE-2010-4670.

  17. CVE-2011-2895

HIGH · The LZW decompressor in (1) the BufCompressedFill function in fontfile/decompress.c in X.Org libXfont before 1.4.4 and (2) compress/compress.c in 4.3BSD, as used in zopen.c in OpenBSD before 3.8, FreeBSD, NetBSD 4.0.x and 5.0.x before 5.0.3 and 5.1.x before 5.1.1, FreeType 2.1.9, and other products, does not properly handle code words that are absent from the decompression table when encountered, which allows context-dependent attackers to trigger an infinite loop or a heap-based buffer overflow, and possibly execute arbitrary code, via a crafted compressed stream, a related issue to CVE-2006-1168 and CVE-2011-2896.

  18. CVE-2015-3625

HIGH · The NVIDIA GPU driver for FreeBSD R352 before 352.09, 346 before 346.72, R349 before 349.16, R343 before 343.36, R340 before 340.76, R337 before 337.25, R334 before 334.21, R331 before 331.113, and R304 before 304.125 allows local users with certain permissions to read or write arbitrary kernel memory via unspecified vectors that trigger an untrusted pointer dereference.

  19. CVE-2020-10565

HIGH · grub2-bhyve, as used in FreeBSD bhyve before revision 525916 2020-02-12, does not validate the address provided as part of a memrw command (read_* or write_*) by a guest through a grub2.cfg file. This allows an untrusted guest to perform arbitrary read or write operations in the context of the grub-bhyve process, resulting in code execution as root on the host OS.

  20. CVE-2020-10566

HIGH · grub2-bhyve, as used in FreeBSD bhyve before revision 525916 2020-02-12, mishandles font loading by a guest through a grub2.cfg file, leading to a buffer overflow.

  21. CVE-2026-35547

HIGH · When processing the header of an incoming message, libnv failed to properly validate the message size. The lack of validation allows a malicious program to write outside the bounds of a heap allocation. This can trigger a crash or system panic, and it may be possible for an unprivileged user to exploit the bug to elevate their privileges.

  22. CVE-2026-39457

HIGH · When exchanging data over a socket, libnv uses select(2) to wait for data to arrive. However, it does not verify whether the provided socket descriptor fits in select(2)'s file descriptor set size limit of FD_SETSIZE (1024). An attacker who is able to force a libnv application to allocate large file descriptors, e.g., by opening many descriptors and executing a program which is not careful to close them upon startup, can trigger stack corruption. If the target application is setuid-root, then this could be used to elevate local privileges.

  23. CVE-2026-39461

HIGH · libcasper(3) communicates with helper processes via UNIX domain sockets, and uses the select(2) system call to wait for data to become available. However, it does not verify that its socket descriptor fits within select(2)'s descriptor set size limit of FD_SETSIZE (1024). An attacker able to cause an application using libcasper(3) to allocate large file descriptors, e.g., by opening many descriptors and executing a program which is not careful to close them upon startup, may trigger stack corruption. If the target application runs with setuid root privileges, this could be used to escalate local privileges.

  24. CVE-2026-4247

HIGH · When a challenge ACK is to be sent tcp_respond() constructs and sends the challenge ACK and consumes the mbuf that is passed in. When no challenge ACK should be sent the function returns and leaks the mbuf. If an attacker is either on path with an established TCP connection, or can themselves establish a TCP connection, to an affected FreeBSD machine, they can easily craft and send packets which meet the challenge ACK criteria and cause the FreeBSD host to leak an mbuf for each crafted packet in excess of the configured rate limit settings i.e. with default settings, crafted packets in excess of the first 5 sent within a 1s period will leak an mbuf. Technically, off-path attackers can also exploit this problem by guessing the IP addresses, TCP port numbers and in some cases the sequence numbers of established connections and spoofing packets towards a FreeBSD machine, but this is harder to do effectively.

  25. CVE-2026-42511

HIGH · The BOOTP file field is written to the lease file without escaping embedded double-quotes, allowing injection of arbitrary dhclient.conf directives. When the lease file is subsequently re-parsed by dhclient, e.g., after a system restart, an attacker-controlled field from the lease is passed to dhclient-script(8), which evaluates it. A rogue DHCP server may be able to execute arbirary code as root on a system running dhclient.

  26. CVE-2026-42512

HIGH · As dhclient is building an environment to pass to dhclient-script, it may need to resize the array of string pointers. The code which expands the array incorrectly calculates its new size when requesting memory, resulting in a heap buffer overrun. A specially crafted packet can cause dhclient to overrun its buffer of environment entries. This can result in a crash, but it may be possible to leverage this bug to achieve remote code execution.

  27. CVE-2026-45250

HIGH · The setcred(2) system call is only available to privileged users. However, before the privilege level of the caller is checked, the user-supplied list of supplementary groups is copied into a fixed-size kernel stack buffer without first validating its length. If the supplied list exceeds the capacity of that buffer, a stack buffer overflow occurs. Because the bounds check on the supplementary groups list occurs after the kernel stack buffer has already been written, an unprivileged local user may trigger the overflow without holding any special privilege. Successful exploitation may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel, allowing an unprivileged local user to gain elevated privileges on the affected system.

  28. CVE-2026-45251

HIGH · A file descriptor can be closed while a thread is blocked in a poll(2) or select(2) call waiting for that descriptor. Because the blocked thread does not hold a reference to the underlying object, this closure may result in the object being freed while the thread remains blocked. In this situation, the kernel must remove the blocked thread from the per-object wait queue prior to freeing the object. In the case of some file descriptor types, the kernel failed to unlink blocked threads from the object before freeing it. When the blocked thread is subsequently woken, it accesses memory that has already been freed resulting in a use-after-free vulnerability. The use-after-free vulnerability may be triggered by an unprivileged local user and can be exploited to obtain superuser privileges.

  29. CVE-2026-45252

MEDIUM · When a fusefs file system implements extended attributes, the kernel may send a FUSE_LISTXATTR message to the userspace daemon to retrieve the list of extended attributes for a given file. The FUSE protocol requires the daemon to return a packed list of NUL-terminated strings. The fusefs kernel module calls strlen() on this daemon-supplied buffer without first verifying that the entire list is NUL-terminated. If a malicious daemon sends a non-NUL-terminated list, the fusefs kernel module may read beyond the end of one heap-allocated buffer and potentially write beyond the end of a second buffer. A malicious daemon could disclose up to 253 bytes of kernel heap memory, or it could inject up to 250 attacker-controlled bytes into unallocated kernel heap space.

  30. CVE-2026-45253

HIGH · ptrace(PT_SC_REMOTE) failed to properly validate parameters for the syscall(2) and __syscall(2) meta-system calls. As a result, a user with the ability to debug a process may trigger arbitrary code execution in the kernel, even if the target process has no special privileges. The missing validation allows an unprivileged local user to escalate privileges, potentially gaining full control of the affected system.
